Have you ever tried a cherry kebab?
Walking through the main entrance of the Sheraton Corniche Hotel, we pass by the guests’ pool area and a small arena to reach Al Mayass restaurant.
At the first step in, wooden floors, arabesque tiles and red cushions made the ambience very cozy.
While we were going through the delicious Armenian/Lebanese menu, a complimentary plate of fresh rosemary leaves with bites of tomato is delivered to our table. Our starters consisted of a combination of cold and hot mezze such as tabbouleh, fattoush, moussaka Al Mayass, kibbeh sajiyeh, hummus and mutabal, together with a generous portion of warm Arabic bread.
And then we ordered the mains: shish taouq, marinated chicken on skewers, kebab be laban, finely ground meat on skewers served with yogurt sauce, but their most popular dish is definitely the kebab be karaz, in which a homemade cherry sauce is served on top of the meat…just lovely! The meat was soft and tender.
After this culinary experience we did not have any room left so we skipped the dessert and we finished with fresh fruits.
The food was delicious and the portions were very large; the service was excellent and we really recommend the restaurant.
The bill for two is around Dhs300 (service included).
