This Cheese Fondue night was our first in Abu Dhabi!
Ok so it is still 40 degrees Celsius outside every single day… but what if, just for a night, we switch into winter mode and enjoy an evening of melted cheese and bread.
The Warehouse, a new wine and tapas bar – located in Pearl Rotana Capital Centre – is now hosting a weekly affair of Cheese Fondue every Friday night.
We were there for the opening Friday Fondue night of the season and the evening had a special themed night dedicated to Elton John. By the way, on one Friday of every month, The Warehouse hosts a tribute to an artist and so far, Amy Winehouse, Mickael Jackson and Bob Marley have been featured.
The day and timing to remember:
Every Friday night
6pm – 10pm (unlimited Fondue)
To 1 am (a la carte menu & themed music entertainment)
The Warehouse wine and tapas bar, Pearl Rotana Captial Centre
Friday weekly Fondue Night
+ One themed night per month
Unlimited cheese fondue and draught wines for AED190 net. Or a la carte regular menu.
Expect a casual and vibrant night with music and fun.
It is definitely fun to enjoy fondue in Abu Dhabi. Once seated, the waiters bring the hot cheese pot and accompaniments to your table. We enjoyed dipping the cooked cubes of potatoes topped with herbs and pieces of bread into the pot and paired it with a side of pickles and onions. We obviously lost a few of the items inside the pot but it’s part of the fun, right? The cheese fondue had a distinguishing texture and taste from what we had experienced in Europe and it reminded us more of bechamel style cheese. Be warned it’s different but still nice!
If you wish to make it a full on fondue night, go ahead and try the chocolate fondue. The chocolate was thick and creamy and paired well with cookies, fresh strawberries or marshmallows. Our personal favorite indulgence was the small salted pretzels though, an idea we will keep in mind next time we prepare our own chocolate fondue at home.
Grab your phone and start telling friends to join you there for a Friday night feast like no other. And please don’t forget to book a table to avoid any disappointment. By 9 pm, all the tables were full and the restaurant was buzzing.
