Staying in Abu Dhabi during the long weekend break, don’t hesitate to visit this exhibition at the hotel lobby until the 3rd December

In celebration of the 48th UAE National day, the Year of Tolerance, Saadiyat Rotana Resort & Villas hosted an art space, featuring  artists of different nationalities who showcased their talent through fascinating live sculpture and live paintings shows. Each exhibit displayed its own unique story creating an environment of holistic tolerance and diversity.

On Monday 25th of November, the hotel welcomed art enthusiasts, communities and distinguished guests, paying homage to more than 200 nationalities living peacefully in the UAE.

Amongst the visitors were representatives from the Fatima Bint Mohamed Zayed’s initiative (FBMI) and Shaikha Al Nowais (Vice President – Owner Relationship Management at Rotana Hotel Management Corporation). The art pieces which are showcased until 3rd December, are presented by artists – Amal Lootah, Harriet De Leeuw, Ariane Konstantinovskaia and Khaled Al Tabbaa.

The installations on the lobby floor encourages visitors to explore, their imagination, get artsy and inspired to get creative.

“We are honoured to be hosting this event and be in the presence of extremely talented artists with various nationalities, that through their work illuminates the Year of Tolerance and highlight our founding fathers vison and accomplishments. The fascinating pieces depict our broad historic scope and engagement with our history and culture”, comments Shaikha Al Nowais.

Amal Lootah LIVE painting from the event

“My creation is a representation of the abundance love. Children, including my niece who I have drawn in this painting – portrays how pure their intentions are when they love something with all their heart without any judgement. This is the Year of Tolerance and I give this message to everyone, that we should have a pure heart, respect other cultures and share love”, comments Amal Lootah.

Khaled Al Tabbaa LIVE sculpture from the event.

“This is the Year of Tolerance, and I wanted to present tolerance, and the magnitude of this incredible word. For me, it represents motherhood as a valuable symbol in our life. Mothers are the ones who we look forward to when we face any obstacles in life, and they support us with their big heart.” comments Khaled Al Tabbaa.

Saadiyat Rotana Resort & Villas continues to place high importance on initiatives that pay respect to people of different cultures. Earlier this year,  in the presence of Her Excellency Noura Al Kaabi, Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development, guests were invited to explore curated heritage and landscape inspired art pieces throughout the resort.  The paintings displayed were up for sale and all funds collected were donated to Beit Al Kheir.

Furthermore, in honour of the conclusion of the Year of Zayed, and marking the beginning of Year of Tolerance, Ashwaq created a special piece to commemorate the iconic leader His Highness Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan who contributed in the development for the nation.

The resort has added two outstanding hand knotted carpets to its collection in collaboration with FBMI – produced through a project aimed to create sustainable employment opportunities for Afghan civilians.
