Nicole Davis.
Nicole Davis is the co-founder of dubaikidz.biz and abudhabikidz an online platform for families in the UAE.
My background..
I’m originally from Brighton in the UK, but moved to Abu Dhabi three years ago when my husband got a job here. I’ve worked in the online world for over 15 years now, including a role at MSN in the UK where I ran the Homepage & News teams. I got to do all sorts of fun things, like interviews with Kylie and Robbie Williams, and covering big news events such as the UK and US elections. I have two toddlers – a boy and a girl – who keep me permanently busy and thoroughly entertained!
My business..
The Kidz Biz websites – www.abudhabikidz.biz and www.dubaikidz.biz – were set up by my business partner Petra Sander, who moved to the UAE from Singapore and realised the need for an online destination to inform parents about events and activities for families. The sites have grown to include a popular ‘What’s On’ section, bi-monthly newsletter, e-zine and Facebook pages, which all ensure parents are constantly informed on current events in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
After giving up an office job to spend more time with my kids, I was looking for an opportunity to combine my passion for the Internet with my role as a Mum. I recently joined forces with Petra to develop the sites and bring a whole host of new features and services to our readers and advertisers.
I am looking for..
We’re always looking for people who want to get involved with the sites and are open to ideas. At the moment, there are a couple of things we’re specifically looking for.
Firstly, we’d love to hear from anyone who is interested in attending kids and family-related events for us to hand out goodie bags and flyers. We get invited to lots of things, but are too busy to attend everything.
Secondly, we’re always looking for people who can contribute articles to the site. Our e-zine section features content written by mums for mums, on a whole host of subjects ranging from craft ideas and activities, to safety issues and learning difficulties.
