Deborah Jossa
Mother of two Deborah Jossa is the cofounder of The Perfect Help the first agency in Dubai to provide recruitment and training services for domestic helpers.
My background..
I’m a quarter French, German, Egyptian and Columbian and I have expat parents, so I lived all over the world as a child – but I consider myself mostly French. I finished my studies in the UK, graduated in Economics, and started a career in banking and then luxury retail.
I followed my husband Adrian to Dubai seven years ago and loved this part of the world. We have a two year-old daughter and a little boy on the way.
My business..
We launched The Perfect Help over the summer. It was an idea that had been growing in our minds for some time, as we identified a gap in the market for quality recruitment and training of domestic help in the UAE. We wanted to make life easier – finding The Perfect Helper (a maid, nanny, driver, or cook) and taking over the effort of training your existing staff.
Unlike other agencies, our Perfectionists search for staff that are already in the UAE, avoiding complicated and costly travel and visa arrangements and giving you the opportunity to meet your future helper face-to-face before making such an important decision. As part of our CSR program, we will even follow up with you to ensure that you are satisfied and always be available for advice and assistance.
Our new schedule of training courses includes: “Etiquette and Good Manners”, “Food Hygiene” and “Laundry”.
I am looking for..
We’re always looking for trainers. We currently need a qualified chef who wants to teach, as the cooking classes are proving very popular. It’s a fun job, taking four hours in the morning and allowing for plenty of interaction. We’re also interested in initiating franchise talks within the region, as we’re now able to provide a full business start-up pack, with procedures, policies, and training. People interested in working with us can send their application to [email protected]
My advice..
Being an entrepreneur gives me the luxury of spending time with my daughter, even if it means working late at night!
I encourage those who have a business idea to take the leap. Dubai has an incredibly supportive network of women, many who are business owners and are all very generous with their time and advice. There’s always someone to talk to, so you will never be alone in launching your company. I would personally be very happy to help any budding entrepreneurs get started!
