We don’t think there are many things more enjoyable than settling down with a good cup of tea – and in our quest to try different varieties from around the world, we found ourselves at Artteas, located inside the quiet Central Souk. The zen-like store sells a plethora of different teas from around the world, including the tea capitals of Taiwan, Korea, Japan, Sri Lanka and India.

The shelves are lined with different varieties to pick from, including soothing Jasmine Tea Pearls, pricey but beautiful Chinese open flower, anti-oxidant Matcha Tea, famous Japanese Sencha and Gyokuro and a selection of mouth-watering flavours including Coconut Tea.

If you have a little more time, there are two tables set up and you can request a tea ceremony for friends and family. The staff are very friendly and willing to assist you in selecting the right varieties and flavours – and the exquisite, yet simple packaging makes the perfect gift.

Tea lovers will be spoilt for choice at Artteas – and even if you’re not a connoisseur and enjoy just the odd cup, it’s well worth a visit.
