If you are into comedy, familiar with French, then, you should book your tickets to this French famous play called ‘Le Diner de Cons’ that translates as ‘The Fools Dinner’.
Played over 600 times by the original cast between 1993 and 1996, adapted as a movie in 1998 that has become a cult movie in France since then, we are lucky as Culture Emulsion decided to play it for the very first time in the UAE.
Directed by Nadia Sallustio, we can’t wait to watch the play, with the Culture Emulsion’s in house semi-professional comedians company, and with a fancy decor arranged by The Den Dubai, a new home & decor boutique that opened recently at Citywalk 2 in Dubai.
The Pitch:
Pierre Brochant, a Parisian publisher, attends a weekly “fools’ dinner”, where guests, who are snobbish prominent Parisian businessmen, must bring along a “fool” who the other guests can ridicule. At the end of the dinner, the evening’s champion fool is selected. Tonight, Brochant exults, he is about to have found the gem, a world-class ‘fool’, Francois Pignon, accountant at the Ministry of Finance and big fan of models made of matches. What he ignores is that Pignon is happening to be a master in the art of trigger disaster …
