Abu Dhabi is now a haven for bikers!
In less than two years, we have seen the biking landscape explode in Abu Dhabi with more and more bikers outdoors especially on weekends, more cycle paths being currently built (especially in Khalifa City A, Yas Island or close to Emirates Palace), many classes proposing spinning trainings throughout the city, bike rentals, tri activities for adults and even kids….
So we decided to round up some of these options now available if you plan to spend more time biking this year.
Indoor options
There now are many spots in Abu Dhabi to experience and improve your cycling skills all year long. Just write spinning Abu Dhabi in your browser and you will be surprised with the number of centers proposing this activity around the Capital.
Les Mills RPM is for example available at Abu Dhabi Country Club and runs a 45 minutes indoor cycling workout where you ride under the rhythm of music.
The Room Abu Dhabi located at Zayed Sport City has its own spinning studio and offers a huge variety of classes for men and women. Some of them caught our attention because of their funny titles such as Spinning Candy, Spinning Belief, Spinning Performance, Cycle Foundations, Cycle Journey….

Outdoor cycling options
Obviously, the Yas Circuit is our first thought for evening trainings on weekdays and we love the idea of training on the Formula 1 circuit, such an amazing environment with the iconic Yas Viceroy hotel above our heads. For all details regarding registration and the weekly schedule, click here.
By the way, you don’t even need to come with your bike as you can also hire them there.
If you feel like discovering the outskirts of Abu Dhabi and especially Al Raha Beach and Yas Island one of these weekends, just rent a bike for a couple of hours and enjoy the ride while discovering Al Zeina, Al Muneera and Al Bandar communities. There is a cycle path along the boulevard close to these three communities that makes the trip quite safe if you come with your kids and there are different stations to grab and drop back your rented bike. For all details, read our dedicated article here.
Al Wathba Cycling Track (40 minutes drive from Abu Dhabi) is also an alternative if you are ready for a long distance ride with its 5 different loops from 8 to 30 km. Check the Abu Dhabi Tri page to get details about the exact location. You’ll also find information about their training sessions.
New bike shops
We just noticed recently some interesting new comers in the city such as Ride Bike Shop, a haven for bikers. Located at Al Seef Village Mall, this wide shop carries a wide range of brands and you’ll find there all accessories and spare parts you may need. We also spotted there fat bikes that are the latest trend and are the equivalent of 4×4 to cars; allowing you to ride on sandy paths and dunes or even on the snow (more difficult to find here), they obviously come at a price but promise great fun. They also stock retractable bikes that are perfect if you live in a flat or for an urban daily use between work and home.
Yas Cycles is also a new store specialized in cycling. Located in Al Zeina, they have an active Facebook page to follow and get regular updates about their products, trainings and races around Abu Dhabi.

The Fat bike trend
At some point, having visitors coming into the city is almost synonymous with a desert trip and often quad biking on dunes. We wouldn’t be surprised if the trend moves up to a more ecological way to surf on dunes with fat bikes in the coming years. We already noticed that Qasr Al Sarab was proposing a fat bike ride to guests visiting the hotel amongst the outdoor activities. For more details, check here.
A aquatic biking workout
We couldn’t help but mention a new alternative now available in town called Spabike. The idea? Bike inside an hydro-massage bath with an integrated biking system. Sessions are now available at Anahata Spa in Khalifa City A, are priced at 180 AED and last 40 minutes. For more details, click here.
