​Food courts always lure us in but let​’​s face it-nothing is healthy. We have however, discovered our favorite food that is yes, full of calories but ​fresh, hearty with an exotic twist.

Freshly made Guacamole with cilantro, onions, tomatoes, hint of garlic and drizzled with olive oil is the perfect pick-me-up after an exhausting day at the mall. The deliciously rich and creamy food is full of antioxidants and ‘good fat’ that is energizing and delicious. So next time you are feeling low on energy while in the mall, just order yourself a bowl.

Looking for something more filling? Then give a try to their signature meal prepared in four steps. Indeed, it takes longer to choose from the different options than to get your meal prepared.

First choose between the burrito, tacos or fajita. They also propose a low carb option called the burrito box that comes without the tortilla wrap.

For the fillings, vegans will opt for the guacamole while others can choose between marinated chicken, flank steak or barbacoa. For our first time, we gave a try to barbacoa, a Mexican speciality beef recipe – overnight marinated beef with a rub which is then slow cooked for 8 hours.

​For the last step, ​select your toppings between Spanish red rice or lime-cilantro rice, black or pinto beans or three choices of salad from chopped tomatoes, to salsa verde with green chili and green tomatillos to a hotter option consisting of ripe plum tomatoes and chipotle. At last, you can add some sour cream or grated cheese.

​Prepared with fresh products, we overall liked our experience – though the meat was slightly wet – especially as there are still not many options for Mexican food on-the-go. Grab a table facing the seaside in The Galleria Mall food court, enjoy your bespoke Mexican dish and we promise you will enjoy a relaxing pause in a luxury environment.

We also like the effort Taqado made on the design as it does not look like the classic fast-food chain options. Dark wood on a facade carved with comic style designs, fresh peppers at the entrance, fun chalkboards here and there, friendly staff, fresh food, all the small details that make the difference and may make you want to eat at this Mexican style fast-food joint.
