The best places to enjoy a drink outdoors in Abu Dhabi
Now that the weather is ideal we are looking forward to spending the evenings outdoors enjoying some nibbles and drinks while catching up with friends in a lovely setting.
We are spoilt for choice when it comes to outdoor locations for a drink in Abu Dhabi and below are some of our favourites.
Hakkasan Abu Dhabi
Hakkasan offers an outdoor terrace worth exploring during the cooler days in Abu Dhabi. Overlooking the lush green domain of Emirates Palace and facing the Etihad Towers, this is the kind of secret spot with an unbeatable view of the Capital we wish we had discovered earlier.
We also recently tested a new offer Hakkasan Abu Dhabi has launched which is just terrific and won’t even break the bank. Available indoors only though, in the stylish bar or lounge from 6pm to 8pm, guests are invited to sample two signature cocktails accompanied by three classic dim sum for 80 AED. Read more here.

Pearls by Michael Caines
On the other side of the street, check the newly opened Pearls by Michael Caines (formerly known as Scott restaurant). Located on the ground level and facing the sea with some islets and wild vegetation, just opt for the upper floor and enjoy the sleek and cosy terrace for an aperitif or after dinner lounge. An idyllic spot to enjoy a peaceful and romantic evening out with your beloved one and friends.
Jumeirah at Etihad Towers | 7pm-11pm
Asia De Cuba
Asia de Cuba is probably one of our favorite haunts for 2015 and is the perfect spot to spend a night with a cuban atmosphere, share tasty finger food and enjoy homemade cocktails on the outdoor terrace overlooking the sea on the Corniche beach. Whether you book a cabana, a traditional table or the communal long table, your evening won’t disappoint. But don’t even think of showing up during the week without prior booking.

Catch Restaurant & Lounge
A few steps away, we have recently discovered that Catch Restaurant & Lounge has an outdoor rooftop worth visiting at night. With a wide selection of mocktails and cocktails classified by Oceans – Atlantic, Indian, Pacific, Southern – paired with a wide array of appetizers, you get to enjoy great views of the sea in a relaxed vibe forgetting you are just two steps away from the busy Corniche street.

Skylite Lounge
Certainly the most spectacular rooftop in the city with its light-filled canopy, the architecture is amazing. This is the spot to come with a large group of friends and spend the night catching up and relaxing. There is a selection of bar bites to choose from but we do wish they would add more upscale finger food options.

P&C by Sergi Arola
An institution in the city, Pearls and Caviar has always been a trendy rooftop to book and enjoy drinks in the city. This season, the spot becomes even more appealing to visit given that gourmet lovers will have the luxury to order fine tapas, a Spanish touch brought by Sergi Arola. You can enjoy a posh version of the the classic croquettes, patatas bravas or Spanish omelet and there are many other options available such as the gaspacho Andalouz that comes with a smoked langoustine and served with foam.

Turquoiz
Tucked away from the city on Saadiyat Island, Turquoiz is just a few meters away from the water. You will just love watching the sunset over the sea, barefoot in the sand while sipping a drink on a sofa or a bean bag. The perfect spot to head to if you are looking for relaxed vibes and a beach atmosphere. And if you feel like grabbing some food, either you go for their menu or then try the neighbouring outdoor options such as Sontaya or 55&5th The Grill at the hotel.
