It’s no secret Abu Dhabi has plenty of options when it comes to pampering but there are always newbies to discover and experience in town. House of Allure Spa located on Al Khaleej Al Arabi street close to the Al Khalidiya Park (see map above) is one of the latest spas that we were invited to review.
With Spring coming soon, we wanted to treat our body to a detox scrub. We picked the spirulina detox -labelled as is on their menu – but it appeared there finally was not such a ingredient in the treatment (a mystery we still haven’t found out ).
The treatment begins with a 30 minute body scrub and is followed by an aloe vera and honey gel wrap.
Entering the treatment room, we were first amazed with the decor and the charming mosaic wall. Copper ladle and basins used for the treatment were nicely displayed along with the different products in bowls.
Our therapist Joey originally from Thailand started the treatment with a green tea salt body scrub. During the first half an hour, she proceeded to exfoliate the skin with a vigorous scrub using only her palms which increased our circulation and left us very energized. Every single part of our body felt smooth and soft.
After a shower, we were served a large refreshing glass of water with lemon and herbs and then the therapist applied an aloe vera and honey gel to soothe, moisturize and restore our skin balance. We really liked the gelish texture that just slid on our body. While wrapped in a plastic film for fifteen minutes, she massaged our scalp and it was so relaxing that we almost fell asleep.
After a second shower, the therapist applied a moisturizing cream and massaged our upper back which was definitely the cherry on the top.
Before leaving, a lemongrass juice along with a Moroccan sweet were awaiting us before we left the spa.
In the end, we really enjoyed our body scrub experience that left our skin totally polished and purified and really loved the treatment room decor.
This is a a luxurious one hour treatment worth trying and it is priced at 500 AED.
