A history of brilliance
Located in the heart of the city, just few steps away from World Trade Center, Khalifa Jewellery in Abu Dhabi is a family-owned business that goes back four generations.
Hailing from Nazareth, the Farah family initially started as a wholesaler of diamonds and gold, to later establishing themselves as retailers in the 1940s.
Today, when you enter the shop you can notice a great selection of ready-to-wear jewels such as pendants, rings, earrings and necklaces, carefully arranged on the glass showcases. Furthermore, in a tiny area of the shop, there are displayed hundred threads of Persian Gulf pearls as well as semi-precious and precious stones ordered by color.
After a quick glimpse, we speak with Samih, the son of the owner, saying that we have in mind a bracelet with our initials in Arabic. He draws in a piece of paper the Arabic letters and then he asks us about the thickness of the sign, which type of gold to use and the pattern of the chain, also suggesting to set a small diamond in of the letters. He shows us some samples to give us the idea of how the bracelet will look like.
After one week our bracelet is ready. The price is very competitive and the finishing is impressive.
The store has a workshop upstairs where three artisans are responsible for the manufacturing of custom jewelry as well as for repairs.
Main requests from customers concern wedding favors and engagement rings, but the shop can also create corporate gifts and custom jewelry for any occasion.
