This smell is just so addictive!
Mimicking venom effects inside the skincare range formulation has been quite trendy these last years and after adopting the Bee Venom moisturiser by Rodial, we were eager to put the Snake Booster Oil – released early 2016 – to the test.
If you are not familiar yet with Rodial, it is actually a UK luxury skincare brand that was founded in 1999 by Maria Hatzistefanis and has become a favorite among A-listers including Elie Goulding or Victoria Beckham.
How does this Snake Booster Oil work? Actually, the oil contains a Syn-ake dipeptide that is meant to mimic the effect of viper venom – and kind of inhibit the contraction of muscle cells – in order to help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
How to use it
Once our face is cleansed, we apply a few drops of this facial oil all over our face with special attention on our forehead, around the eyes and on our cheeks. When we had some time for some pampering, we also tried to massage our skin with the drops of oil. As the booster oil absorbs quickly, we could then proceed and apply our usual serum or moisturising day cream. For best results, you can also apply it twice but we would personally just apply it once a day, usually in the morning and on occasional nights where we massaged it onto the face.
What we thought about it
We got addicted in no time to this facial oil. First it just smells amazing thanks to a subtle citrus fragrance! Usually not keen on using oils on a daily basis, our skin absorbed the oil so fast that we wouldn’t feel the uncomfortable greasy side of facial oils.
We also didn’t feel any stinging or other side effects while applying the facial oil which we actually were afraid of at the beginning.
The pipette is very convenient to use and check the oil amount you wish to use.
The smell, the softness of the oil made it a skincare routine we thoroughly enjoyed as it somehow gives you the feeling of having a facial massage everyday which helps feel good from the inside out.
