ROSE POUDRE | A NEW BLOW DRY BAR TO CHECK OUT IN ABU DHABI

This new Blow Dry Bar opened its doors in May 2017 in Abu Dhabi.

Rose Poudre’s Instagram account features photos of boxer braids, lovely buns and elaborate ponytails with a cosy background decor. It had us so intrigued we gave it a go and we’re happy we found this new gem.

So, this new blow dry, inspired by the streets of New York City, is located close to Jones The Grocer in Al Maamoura (check the map below for the exact location). Don’t expect any haircut or coloring while visiting –  as a dry bar, they focus on treatments, plaits and blowouts.

It definitely has an intimate and cosy outlook with light rose leather sofas, the latest trendy wallpaper with banana leaves and marble tables. Exquisite decor details displayed here and there – a Chanel perfume bottle, golden magazine holder – all pair perfectly with the decor.

You can visit the salon either for a hair treatment or for a blowout. Their Instagram account shows alluring hairdos aplenty. Their service menu will help you browse and choose your style depending on your mood; California Babe, Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Manhattan Sleek, The Tumblr or The Devil wears Prada are amongst the many hairdo options. The day we visited, we went for the boxer braids.

In just an hour, our hair transformed from a flat and unflattering hairstyle to nicely executed and cool boxer braids.

Our experience detailed in three steps…

HAIR WASH
Our treatment at Rose Poudre started with a shampoo and conditioner using the fancy Kevin Murphy hair products range.

BLOW DRY
Two hairdressers went on to blow dry our hair to ease and speed up the process. Much appreciated, especially as we came in between two work appointments. Our stylist, who has been working in the hair salon industry for more than a decade, carried on with curling our hair to have it look more supple.

HAIRDO
In less than half an hour, she completed flawlessly our boxer braids and proposed adding hair accessories. We could choose between colorful strings available in assorted colors (photo below) or varied metallic pins. We chose the Fatma hands. These adds-ons can be purchased for 45AED for 6 items.

To conclude, we enjoyed discovering this ultra feminine spot and being served by such an efficient team. A lovely space to visit next time you need a unique look for a special event, or feel you deserve a treat.
