A haven to discover refined and niche perfumes
Great news! Villa 515, a concept store in Abu Dhabi dedicated to fragrances has reopened at the Galleria Mall close to Chanel Boutique. Their motto? As a visitor of Villa 515, your experience is guaranteed to be anything but ordinary.
The boutique design is totally unconventional and unique and that’s why we liked it at first sight. Mostly white, the table displaying perfumes has unique feet, made with dismantled vintage wooden chairs lacquered in white and assembled in an artistic way.
The comfy sofas, cushions, and frames on the walls make you almost feel like you are at a friend’s home instead of a store.
The boutique carries perfumes, with twenty or so very unique, creative and niche perfume brands, and also home scents. We selected a few we have discovered so far but there are many more to discover at the boutique.
We also discovered Villa 515 has a convenient online shop featuring these exclusive perfume brands.
It is, for example, the first time we have found Scent of Departure, AUH. This brand captures the essence and spirit of the world’s most vibrant cities in an olfactory memento.
Tola
First discovering while browsing stalls at the new department store Robinson in Dubai, we saw the Emirati niche perfume brand TOLA created in 2010 by Dhaher Bin Dhaher on the shelves.
‘Tola’ is a traditional anciant Indian unit of mass unit of weight of India equal to 180 grains troy. This unit of measure is today used for gold and other rare and precious items.
Each perfume bottle comes with these handmade white ceramic smelling cups.
Teint de Neige or “The Color of Snow”
If you smell this perfume by Lorenzo Villoresi once, you will remember it forever as it has an unmistakable fragrance of face powder, the perfume of talc. The soft and enveloping Eau de Toilette is yet intense and persistent.
A usually hard to find perfume in the city!
Zenology
With a fashion and interior designer background, the founder started his brand Zenology while opening his boutique hotel in Amsterdam. Since then, this label is known as an eco-friendly line of bath and room scents and the Bukhoor range below.
Etat Libre D’Orange
This French label is immediately recognizable with their very graphic bottles and the three colored (blue-red-white) Rosette.
This avant-garde label has its aficionado who enjoy their surprising olfactive compositions.
