This short video takes you on voyage through time at Abu Dhabi’s Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque.
The first glimpse of Abu Dhabi’s Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque usually leaves visitors speechless. Its grandiosity and detailed design are among its most striking features. However, for Abu Dhabi-based filmmaker Beno Saradzic, the structure offered a unique opportunity to film from a variety of vantage points which were ideal for capturing time.
Over the course of about five months, Beno studied the mosque and its surroundings and captured nearly every moment with his camera. The final product entitled The Voyage is a two and a half minute video that will leave you feeling like you have been there throughout the whole process. His technique of using time lapse involved the capturing of slow moving shadows, while played with color to really bring the structure to life.
There’s no doubt that Beno has a strong passion for the art of film making, which he says, is all about finding new creative ways to tell a story through pictures. The Voyage is the result of months of work, patience and dedication. It came as no surprise that the film won first place in the time lapse category at the 5th season of the Spaces of Light Photography Award in Abu Dhabi.
To sum up, this short video will teach you a lot about technique and will allow you to experience this beautiful site in a brand new way.
