Whether you love it or hate it, there’s no denying the fact that tea consumption is continuing to grow around the world. In fact, tea is the most widely consumed beverage after water.
There are five main types of tea; White, Green, Oolong, Black and Pu-erh. What makes them different is the degree the leaves are allowed to turn from green to brown-black, in a process called oxidation. There are around 1,500 varieties of tea, from Earl Grey to English Breakfast, but they all come from one species of plant, the Camellia sinensis.
According to one expert, tea drinkers fall into one of four categories; The Escapist, The Health Conscious, The ‘I need a caffeine fix’ or The Habit Drinker, but whatever group you fall into, I think we can all agree, you just can’t beat a ‘good ol’ cuppa tea’.
