Ever tried an authentic Turkish Breakfast? Well the good news is you don’t have to travel all the way because you can now experience it at Cafe Muska, the first Turkish café in the whole country. 

Centrally located by Al Wahda Mall we were quite surprised to find a spot with a Turkish Chef and Turkish ingredients in the heart of the city. 

The healthy breakfast is a filling mix of olives, boiled egg, mortadella, white cheese with sliced tomatoes and cucumbers, and a pot of cream and honey for those with a sweet tooth. 

Their signature fresh juice that is a mix of pomegranate and orange is very refreshing. We also tried the tea, yes it’s true although Turkish coffee is far more famous, for breakfast the Turks prefer a cup of tea. 

Another specialty Turkish dish for breakfast is the wholesome and hearty, ‘menemen‘, which is usually prepared with eggs, tomatoes, green peppers, onions and olive oil. 

If you are more tempted by pastries, then check out the wide variety of pastries and desserts that the Chef prepares daily with Turkish ingredients. 

Another must-have is the ‘simit‘ a circular bread with sesame seeds on top or the ‘açma‘ that is shaped like a bagel and filled with spinach. 

All the dishes are homemade using recipes that have traveled through generations and are carefully guarded by the Chef-so don’t expect him to share any secrets! 

We particularly like the outdoor shady terrace overlooking a pedestrian plaza-an ideal open space when you come with kids. 

This authentic café is easy to access and has no parking woes. Cafe Muska is easily accessible when you park at Al Wahda Extension Parking. The perfect way to start a morning here with an energizing and delicious breakfast especially when you have a long hectic day ahead.
