Sushi Central’s latest addition
Total fan of Japanese food? There is a brand new lunch offer in Abu Dhabi that fills a gap in the brunch market.
Every Saturday, between 12pm and 3pm, Sushi Central proposes a buffet brunch in its new branch located in Mina.
Within just two years, we saw this young and vibrant brand that we were amongst the first to discover in the Capital become a major actor in the high end Japanese sushi deliveries.
So we were obviously amongst the first to go and experience their latest spot and new concept in town.
Priced at 135 AED, this buffet proposes a selection of healthy salads, appetizers, mains and desserts.
Nothing to do with the decadent brunches we visit here and there in the capital as their concept is more about casual buffet focused on what Sushi Central built its reputation on : healthy, tasty and fresh Japanese delicacies.
A flavored miso soup was first brought to our table. Then we went for a few finger bites with of course the warm salted Edamame, Chicken Spring Rolls, Vegetable Ratatouille Gyoza and Potatoe Croquettes.
For our main, we enjoyed Sushi Central sushi classics such as the salmon or squid Nigari, California rolls, crunchy spicy tuna and different more.
The fish papillotte was a pure delight; flavored with different herbs and galanga roots, the snapper was very soft and cooked on a bed of carrots, lemongrass and spring onions.
There were much more to choose from such as the vegetable fried rice, vegetable teppenyaki, white gohan rice or chicken teriyaki.
For the desserts, there were two options to try : a fresh fruit salad that added a refreshing touch to rinse the palate and the oreo tempura with ice cream that the chefs prepare last minute and are worth a try. We have no doubt this dessert that comes with fresh strawberries and coulis will be a hit with the little ones. The restaurant is unlicensed and the buffet is served with an unlimited homemade tea.
This spot decorated with a selection of artworks from Etihad Art Gallery is perfect for a day out with family and friends if you wish to enjoy Japanese fresh delicacies in a casual family-friendly atmosphere without breaking the bank.
