Loca Is Open For Lunch During Ramadan
If you’re looking for a new chic, cheap and cheerful option for lunchtime client meetings, leave it to Loca. Even better, you don’t have to wait until after Ramadan to grab something midday – their doors will remain (discreetly) open for both business and pleasure during the Holy Month.
On this occasion, we mean business and took a chance on the new two-course Business offer. Welcomingly wallet-friendly at 90 AED per person for a starter and main each, plus sides of crisp warm chips, gorgeous chunky guac and salsa, we were more than ready to dig into some modern Mexican classics.
While the coolness of fresh, colourful ceviche was our top starter choice on a hot day (it’s got mango and papaya mixed in!), we were easily persuaded to offset those vibrant flavours with some deep-friend jalapenos as well. These were decadent and gooey with just enough Oaxaca cheese …and probably the winner in the end, if we’re honest.
A hungry man will meet his match next with the boldly-plated beef tenderloin salad served with refried beans and heaps of other colourful Mexican dips and garnishes. Meanwhile, Loca’s famous, perfectly-cooked Kingfish tacos are a light and lovely alternative.

Each course has a veggie option and next time we’re eyeing the mushroom and pepper-packed vegetarian Chimichanga, served with tomatillo soup.
Yep, we’ll gladly leave the office again for this “loca” lunch deal.
