Good news for meat lovers ! The USA’s largest Brazilian steakhouse has touched down for the first time Abu Dhabi
If you are into meat and love discovering new steakhouses in the Capital, this lively and casual new comer should be on your must visit list. As Texas de Brazil was making quite a buzz lately in the city, we were eager to check out the concept and put this to the test.
Our immediate reaction? It is quite big, has a vibrant atmosphere and it is a real extravaganza for meat lovers, but not only …as their salad bar is impressive and features more than 50 options to choose from.
Upon arrival, we were guided to our table and soon after individual warm cheese breads were brought to us. Our designated waiter who was gentle and knowledgeable explained the fixed-price dining concept. We could either go for the light meal – the gourmet buffet salad – or opt for the full experience that includes a selection of various cuts of meats and a plenty veggies to pair with. Simple !
We started by visiting the centrally located salad bar that will surely please all tastebuds. It features fresh salads- beetroots, asparagus, tabbouleh, chickpeas… – carpaccio pineapple, charcuterie, smoked salmon, cooked shrimps served cold, cheeses and more.
Once ready to move on, we turned our individual disk from the red side to the green and the ballet of waiters – recognizable as dressed with blue shirts, black aprons and boots up to the knees – started to stop at our table to propose us to try freshly-grilled meats. All the meats are slowly spin roasted and grilled over an open flame and guests can check out how it works as the guys looking after them at the open kitchen are the ones visiting us at our tables.
There is a lot to try from flank steak, picanha carvings, prawns – our three favorites – to filet mignon, filet mignon and chicken wrapped in beef bacon, the slow-roasted leg of lamb, beef sausage and more. To further complement the cuts, we got to try mashed potatoes with caramelized onions and fried bananas topped with cinnamon and sugar. There are also some Brazilian classics such as Feijoada (stew of black beans), potato gratin, sauteed mushrooms… we guarantee it is generous…
We advise you to play on and off with your red and green disk and make pauses to have enough time in between enjoying the different cuts.
By the way, one practical advice, we heard Friday night was very busy and usually full since the opening so better pick a more quiet night to make the most of your visit there.
In case you still have room for desserts, there are a couple options. We tried the Brazilian cheesecake that came with vanilla ice cream aside. A sweet we recommend only if you have been wise before as the portion is generous and the dessert quite heavy.
Sunday through Thursday, during lunch time, the restaurant offers various cuts of meat and over 50 salad options, priced at AED 129, and a light lunch (gourmet salad only area) priced at AED 65.
