A nice reputation deserved at this centrally located pub in Abu Dhabi
Seeking a casual spot to head to in the city center on a weekday? Look no further than Porters Pub at Grand Millenium Al Wahda Hotel as it tickles all boxes. This pub is ‘litterally underground’ as you have to walk down two floors from the ground floor.
Invited for a preview of their new hot wings menu, we jumped at the invitation to go check out this spot as we had heard positive feedback for years. After this visit, we have to admit that we shouldn’t have waited that long before visiting. The spot was definitely vibrant and crowded on a Tuesday night with a great live band playing, and secondly it has a very typical pub decor and atmosphere.
With music band posters all aligned along the walls, the dark wooden floor and furniture adds some personality to the place. Depending on your mood, you can either book a seat at the wide open dining area or sit at in a more intimate booth.
After browsing their food menu filled with a wide selection of burgers, pies and typical British pub food, we couldn’t help but taste their fish & chips and burgers. Our orders came after fifteen minutes or so which gave us time to chat and enjoy the band. Our order was all fine with the fish and chips not too greasy and a generous portion while the burger was juicy and ideal for if you crave something more decadent.
So if you are in the mood to head out on a weeknight with friends, this is a warm and cozy put to head to that has a varied schedule throughout to fit all tastes including ladies night on Mondays, quizz on Tuesdays and rock night every Wednesday.
