We couldn’t think of a more quaint and creative café in Abu Dhabi for arts collective, Blank Canvas to host this cool monthly meetup. The soothing space is just designed to let your mind drift, and this group’s Expression Sessions return this March for a fourth exciting edition inviting Abu Dhabians to do just that via art.

You do not need to have ever painted before – come and explore the therapeutic and freeing effects of just grabbing a paintbrush and wielding it with abandon. The idea of Blank Canvas is to connect like and unlike minds through artistic expression, and to encourage this raw and thoughtless collaboration between creatives. Here, everyone is an artist.

The sessions usually all have underlying themes as well that focus on the human experience and the many phases we go through in this existence. For the sake of spontaneous expression, the theme will be revealed on the night of each session.

Obviously this sort of event calls for an open mind, but if you’re struggling to let your guard down, the live music and spoken word provided by the capital’s independent artists, plus the heaps of good energy and fresh food in the room should help fuel you, too.

Expression Sessions are for all ages. There is very limited capacity so RSVPing is a must.
