The new iconic Dubai Water Canal was officially opened on the 9th of November 2016.

His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai inaugurated the opening of The Dubai Water Canal on 9th November 2016.  One of the most anticipated projects of Dubai, the Dubai Water Canal is changing the entire landscape of the city.

Dubai Water Canal is an artificial canal unveiled on 2 October 2013 and inaugurated on 9 November 2016.

Dubai Water CanalIt extends 9 km from the Ras Al Khor area all the way through Business Bay to Sheikh Zayed Road.  It features the longest promenade in the UAE, spanning 12 km and will house water homes, floating restaurants, retail outlets and even palm tree-lined marinas.

There will be onshore boutique shopping and a wide selection of leisure and entertainment facilities.  The Dubai Water Canal also includes five footbridges out of which three have iconic designs.

There is also a motion controlled waterfall that will automatically switch off when boats and yachts cross under it.

Since the RTA transport system is also now functioning you can take your friends and family for a ride down the canal and witness this amazing achievement by Dubai.
