WELCOME TO THE FIRST GLUTEN-FREE BAKERY IN ABU DHABI

An entire bakery that is 100% gluten-free

Firin Gluten Free Bakery, the first 100% gluten-free bakery in Abu Dhabi opened its doors this Spring in Abu Dhabi. Hidden behind the Football Dome close to Al Noor Hospital on Airport Road, this new bakery can be tricky to find but Google Maps can easily take you there -see map above-.

We immediately felt like home in this cozy and welcoming spot that is such a great addition for the Abu Dhabi families, especially if you or a member of your family live with gluten intolerance.

Both a bakery and a cafe, Firin Bakery proposes a wide selection of breads such as za’atar, saj, samoon, focaccia and bread loafs that can be stored for a couple of days. We were also impressed with the wide selection of gluten-free cupcakes, cheesecakes, muffins and biscuits with different flavours.

We took home a mix of walnut, chocolate, raspberry, blueberry and ginger big muffins (priced at 18 AED each) and peanut butter cookies sold in a bag (24 AED). Flavorful and soft, the family was quick to finish them all and want to go back for more.

Visiting the cafe at lunchtime, we had the perfect relaxing break in the brightly lit section with an interesting decor. The sofas are all made with wooden pallets with wheels and the cushions are covered in tartan-print fabric.

 

Priced at 40 AED and served on a playful tray, our fatayer pizza was topped with mozzarella and had a thin, tasty and crunchy gluten-free crust. The tea and coffee lovers will appreciate the organic coffee selection served in different styles: chemex, siphon, etc and if you are more into tea, there are great organic options and if you fancy the tea you tasted, you can now purchase them.

Firin is ideal for a coffee with a friend, quick lunch or pause with kids between after-school activities and of course the go-to spot for 100% gluten-free freshly baked goods.
