Enter a boutique filled with hidden design gems!

When traveling to Europe, nothing beats visiting a trendy art exhibition followed by browsing the museum boutique as they often carry the crème de la crème in terms of design, stylish brands to follow and affordable unique gifts and souvenirs to pick.

To be very honest, it is something we had been missing in the UAE and that’s probably why we were eager to share our latest find while visiting Louvre Abu Dhabi.

Open since the very beginning, it is only while checking out the Rembrandt exhibition – a must see by the way – (details here) that we realized how eclectic and gorgeous the selection at the Louvre Abu Dhabi boutique is.

From cute stationery (less than 50 AED for very cute notebooks) to home accessories at very affordable pricing, it has now become our go-to whenever we want to offer a cool gift that won’t break the bank.

We have a serious crush on their glass cactus collection that guests can use just for decor or as single-flower vases, the camel and palm tree golden candle holders that relate to our everyday life in the UAE make a great farewell gift. The dark blue set of six &klevering coasters with moon, thunder or stars was also a gorgeous find, both poetic and rock.

The shop houses great accessories for men such as wooden ties with varied designs and has a huge corner for kids, filled with puzzles, games and books.

If you are into books, there is a gorgeous selection of coffee table books to check out. We found the Table Tales book that we adore (review here), a very unique book about the global cuisine in Abu Dhabi shared by its residents. The UAE 101 stories & cultural learnings guidebook to the Emirati culture and the Emirati cuisine recipe cards set were also calling out to us!

There is a wide selection of Octaevo objects, including their colorful and design paper vases.

It was also our first time coming across PUSH solo bowls by the German brand Fundamental. Folded as a flat metal plate, you can create the shape you want with your fingers. They will do the perfect job in a hallway to store your keys, lip balm, and essentials at home. These cute design bowls are available in gold, silver and copper color. Gorgeous!

The metallic mini LEXON speakers just beside can also be a nice treat for teen birthday gifts and are well priced at 168AED. They are a good way to introduce design in a teen’s room.

Lastly, we couldn’t resist the arty suitcase covers by LOQI such as the girl with a Pearl Earring by Vermeer and more arty designs.

A real playground for art and design amateurs and a one-of-a kind spot now on our radar when looking for something unique to gift a friend … or ourselves. 

The good news is we can access the boutique during museum hours without paying the museum entrance fees.

Closed on Mondays, Louvre Abu Dhabi is open daily from 10 am to 8 pm and until 10 pm on Thursdays and Fridays.
