If you like a bargain whilst giving something back to the community, we have the perfect suggestion… Located in St Andrew’s Community Centre, the Thrift Shop sells good quality used products, such as clothing, shoes, vintage bags, books and games for kids.
Clothes will cost you just 3 AED, whilst any book will cost just 1 AED. When we last visited, we found a large selection of English novels – from authors like Ken Follett, to modern titles like Fifty Shades of Grey (!) We were surprised to also discover an entire shelf dedicated to French classical books for adults and kids. We also hunted through the clothes and found some great pieces, such as Joseph trousers.
You are also welcome to bring your own unwanted good quality items to sell, with all money raised going towards charitable projects in the UAE and abroad. The Thrift Shop is, for example, currently supporting the creation of a new school in India.
