Ichiban is a nursery that doesn’t only teach your kids academics, but life skills too, like putting a wash on or hanging clothes or planting vegetables to use in their cooking classes.

The nursery uses a combination of Japanese, Finnish and modern Montessori curriculums.  From Japan they take three main elements – discipline, time management and creativity, whilst from Finland they use a learn through play philosophy and from the modern Montessori approach kids learn and develop practical life, cultural and sensorial skills, mathematics, language alongside movement and control.

Calming music is played throughout the day which they believe helps to focus the children, whilst yoga in the specially designed Zen room helps to complement the relaxed atmosphere.

A minimalist vibe flows through the nursery and they use neutral colours as research has found that children find cluttered classrooms distracting. Recyclable materials are used throughout the building from the carpet to the stair gates which are made of bamboo, and the repurposed tyres which have been made into sinks.

Outdoor space is extensive with a pool, lots of green space and built in road and carwash for the kids to drive round in.
