In line with Umm Al Emarat Park’s ethos of ‘education through recreation’ and its commitment to provide a variety of programs and attractions for all ages, the Animal Barn and Petting Zoo is re-opened to visitors of all ages.

The Animal Barn and Petting Zoo – housed in the Children’s Garden – , in collaboration with Al Ain Zoo, is home to a host of animals including ponies, rabbits, tortoises, pygmy goats, horses and camels.

Rasha Kablawi, Head of Umm Al Emarat Park’s Corporate Affairs and Communication Department commented: “Since 1982, Umm Al Emarat Park has partnered with over 80 organizations to host a wide variety of events and programs. Building on this history, we’re excited to officially launch our newest partnership with Al Ain Zoo. Through our Animal Barn and Petting Zoo, visitors, with a special focus on children, will be able to explore, interact with, and learn more about animals in addition to the plants and ecosystem of the park.”

Omar Yousef Alblooshi, Director Marketing & Corporate Communication in Al Ain Zoo said: “Our participation at Umm Al Emarat Park augurs well for the realisation of our mutual objectives and missions in preserving the vision of the founding father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan [may God rest his soul in peace] in conserving the environment and wildlife, one of the main objectives of Al Ain Zoo when it was established in 1968. This comes in addition to our mutual endeavours in preserving the UAE’s environmental identity and providing interactive and expeditionary learning through direct interaction between visitors and animals. By engaging society in our activities and initiatives to conserve nature, we are raising environmental awareness in a unique and engaging way, targeting all segments of society and future generations in particular.”

Visitors can also feed the animals, or go on a fun ride-along with a camel, pony or horse.

Umm Al Emarat Park is open every day from 8 a.m. to 12 midnight.
