Some of you may have already visited the Royal Stables in Abu Dhabi but did you know about the brand new Yoga studio there?
The Yoga Studio
It is very recently that we first heard about The Yoga Studio that opened its doors in the Fall of 2017. Once entering the Royal Stables, just take the first street on your right immediately after the main gate and drive till the end of the cul de sac. For our very first visit, we discovered the center at nighttime: it is a very peaceful house nestled in between shrubs, mature trees with pedestrian paths around. A little haven in the city!
The building interior is also very spacious and relaxing with different quotes painted on the walls here and there. The classes are slightly different from the usual yoga studios we have visited around the Capital. For example, we booked our very first spinal care yoga class at this studio. Apart from traditional yoga classes – Vinyasa, Hatha, meditation, power – the center also provides laughing yoga classes, pranayama (focusing on breathing), yoga nidra and fitness fusion.
While there are 3 classes per morning, busy mums driving back and forth around the city for their kids’ activities may be interested in the afternoon classes on weekdays between 4.45pm and 7.15pm. This can be quite convenient if your children attend a pony or equestrian session at the Royal Stables after school (all details below).
Lastly, we noticed the schedule includes a couple of classes – including outdoor classes for adults and kids- during the weekend.

The Royal Stables
For those of you who are new in Abu Dhabi and not yet familiar with its landmarks, the Royal Stables was established in 1969 by H. H. Sh. Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. These stables are centrally located on the island and offer such a peaceful and unique green setting.
Set among mature trees, shrubs and lawns, this is one of the most tranquil areas in the city that is filled with birds. A secret haven that has kept its authenticity and air of peace throughout time.
Kids – boys only under 12 years old) -, teen girls and female adults – can all enjoy the facilities and take the opportunity to improve their equestrian skills. Apart from the riding school, there is also a pony club for the little ones (75 AED for a 20-minutes ride for non-members). If you are already acquainted with horse riding, you will definitely like the facilities as they have shaded forest tracks, more than 30 sand paddocks around the stables, an indoor riding arena for the warm days in the city and much more.
Don’t hesitate to come at the Royal Stables office to get more information and enjoy a hot beverage and a bite at the coffee shop. Just keep in mind that the Royal Stables are closed to the public between 1 pm and 4 pm.
