Ever considered learning Arabic, but been put off by the effort and cost? It might be time to rethink, as we’ve found a great value-for-money and family-friendly spot in Abu Dhabi called IQRA’A.

The school, located in a traditional villa with tiny wooden tables, will definitely take you back to your school days. Don’t let that put you off, as this place has a very happy and friendly atmosphere, thanks to a great bunch of teachers and classmates from all over the world.

Everyone has a different reason for wanting to be here, from learning Arabic calligraphy, to becoming fluent in the language to get a job, to sharing about culture and tradition.

Classes are organised in small groups of typically half a dozen students and cover all skill levels, from complete beginners to conversation classes. Lessons usually last two hours, twice a week, and focus on learning how to write, read and speak classic Arabic also called “fooS-ha”.

Your efforts will soon pay off and you will be able to enjoy the pride of helping your kids with their Arabic homework or chatting with Arabic speakers in the street.

Prices are affordable: a 6 weeks program with 4 hours a week costs 600 AED (24 hours for AED 600). IQRA’A organizes classes in the morning (8-10 am and 10-12 am) and afternoon (5-7pm and 7-9 pm).
