Time Seems to Stand Still at this Sundowner Brunch
Sweater weather is upon us, but the weekenders that head to Iris for long, leisurely Saturdays are too stylish to care. Forever in short shorts and floaty sleeveless dresses, staff will hand you a cosy shawl upon request anyway.
With its chic, sprawling terrace and an attached lawn and monitored playground, kids are certainly invited to this breezy brunch, too. In fact, they enter free.
Shockingly, this brunch lasts five whole hours! Paired with a live soundtrack of low-key “just relax” House music, we never felt any rush or discomfort in moving from meal to meal, or eating more.
The food may not be the most memorable, and yet without realising it our plates of sushi turned into jars of festive salads into prosciutto, bruschetta, figs, cheese and fresh fruit, then a heaping portion of fat, grilled prawns and meats, before caving on carbs – live stations at the back make saj, pasta, hard and soft tacos, and a perfectly layered crepe.
Numerous fresh juices and iced tea are offered, while gorgeously-arranged carts have handsome servers concocting flashy adult sundowners. So stay, sip and catch the last of the day’s rays as the sun sets over the glittering yachts. It’s worth it.
