Opa! Get a taste of the Mediterranean at Mr Greek

‘It’s all Greek to me’ Shakespeare once wrote and at Mr Greek in Yas Mall, it really is!

Located by the mall entrance to Ferrari World, the restaurant stands out amongst the other restaurants with its Grecian architecture and use of vibrant blue and white colours, synonymous with the Greek flag.

On our arrival, wait staff in waistcoats and Fez style hats greeted us.  The restaurant itself was decorated to give you the sense of being outside. A large roman style pillar along with Greek pottery and wicker baskets hanging on the wall, gave it a real garden feel.  

The kitchen and bar were located by a huge protruding wall, which had been designed to look like the external wall of a tavern – with large windows and balconies and it really made us feel like we were sitting al fresco in a lovely town square in Greece.

The crockery was finished with a blue and white mosaic style to match the surrounding blue wooden chairs and tables.

We tried Mediterranean classics such Souvlaki and Keftedes (meatballs) along with speciality dishes including Spanakopita – Filo pastry generously filled with spinach.

Portion sizes were large and it felt like good value and whilst we are not experts in Greek food, it was a pleasant experience.
