These are the latest trendy cafes to head to in Abu Dhabi
If you are finally back in Abu Dhabi and looking for new cafés to visit, then we know just the spots. We have a round-up of the latest places that are creating quite the buzz and are worth checking out.
Tashas
One of our fave cafés in Abu Dhabi – coming from South Africa – has opened their first boutique cafe/ restaurant in Abu Dhabi and the decor is just amazingly cozy. An ideal spot to head to with your friends for an intimate or large bunch of ladies catch up. We promise you won’t regret this choice !
Read our full review here as we recently visited TASHAS at dinner time (another option to head there with your beloved one).
Switch
Just cross the street and you will face an impressive white wall facade with Arabic characters words and an arty window. This is where the new Switch cafe is located at Al Barsa marina. We loved the indoor decor of this futuristic cafe at first sight. The connoisseurs will recognize the style of Karim Rashid the designer who worked on this project. Another hidden cafe worth checking out after you have dropped the little ones at school.
1762
It is something we have missed so far in the city, having a cafe that also proposes appealing, healthy and varied takeaway salads and sandwiches. We now have our first gourmet deli called 1762 cafe in Abu Dhabi. This chain “was established in 2010 by a passionate group of foodies in Dubai who wanted to cater great gourmet dishes to fellow food lovers across the UAE”. This new gourmet deli is located close to the Corniche, at the bottom of Al Ain Tower in Khalidiya area.
Open daily between 8am to 6pm, be aware this cafe is closed on Fridays and Saturdays.
Raw by Nolu’s
It is no secret we are Nolu’s fans and were obviously amongst the first to pay a visit to their latest newbie, both a cafe and a juice bar. It is conviently located inside Al Seef Village (the first outlet on the right when coming from Andalus hotel entrance).
The greenish decor already switches your mind and makes you feel in a good mood. Raw by Nolu’s offers there a large range of healthy juices, smoothies and a plenty breakfast options, bites and salads to enjoy while catching up or take away home after a morning catch up there. Check our full review here.
Black Smith Coffee
Just when you feel you have rounded up your fave coffee shops in the city, Abu Dhabi offers more. Our latest find at Saadiyat Island? BlackSmith Coffee located on Saadiyat Island close to NYUAD (New York University campus in Abu Dhabi) should also be on your to do list.
Open 7 days a week (timings and location map in our detailed review here), this new cafe – two of the co-founders are actually former students at NYUAD – has already its regulars from the university campus residents and we envy them for having this coffee shop at their doorstep. The concept is different from any we have seen so far in the city; no real kitchen and menu, it ‘s more of a high-end cafeteria with some of our favorite suppliers in the city filling the cafe shelves, such as Nolu’s, The Raw Place and Gossip for the pastries.
