Finally, More Vietnamese Food in Abu Dhabi
Vietnamese food is sorely under-represented in Abu Dhabi, so we were elated to find The Pho Room tucked away at the back of one of Yas Mall’s food courts, flying the flag for the Southeast Asian country. It’s obviously a no-frills affair, but worth a visit if, like us, you’re regularly hankering for pho (the nation’s signature noodle soup).
They offer a pretty authentic and aromatic bowl of it here – we asked a girl with a mouth full of steaming noodles if she recommended we order it and she nodded enthusiastically between slurps. Varieties include chicken, seafood, vegetable and, the most popular, beef. We appreciated the generous serving of meat swimming in our steak beef pho.
We also enjoyed the light shredded chicken breast and cabbage salad, somehow both wet and crisp, doused in a vibrant Vietnamese dressing.
And while there are tons of comforting Asian staples and stir fries on the menu, we’d highly recommend the pretty filling, wonderfully colourful, all-encompassing Bun bowls. You’ll get vermicelli noodles topped in a veggie spring roll and served with fresh herbs and veggies, bean sprouts, peanuts and your side of meat or seafood. Try the chicken or squid. The whole thing really comes together and rocks your taste buds if you drizzle it in the classic citrus-y Vietnamese fish sauce.
All in all, we are very happy to have found this place.
