Punjab Grill opened its doors around two years ago at The Venitian Village, a complex located close to Mussafah Bridge (check our map below) that has gained popularity over months as there are several dining options to choose from, including Inakaya, Barfly by Buddha bar, Fanar Restaurant andBrasserie Flo.

On a visit to the area we stumbled upon the business lunch offer at Punjab Grill that definitely offers good value for money.

Fairly priced at 95AED (inclusive of all charges), their menu includes 3 starters, 3 main courses and desserts to choose from. The staff encouraged us to share and taste different items from the menu in order to get a wider overview of the Indian cuisine the restaurant has to offer.

Comfortably settled outside the restaurant, at the terrace overlooking the Khor Al Maqta – the waterway separating the Abu Dhabi island from the mainland – we first started with a flavorful and rich Dal Ka Shorba and shared a vegetable samosa chaat. A warm Paratha and Garlic bread came on time with the starters and we loved pairing it with our lentil soup.

For our mains, we went for the Meat Punjab Grill and the Chicken Tikka Trio accompanied with both jeera rice and safed chawal (white rice), following our waiter’s advice. Portions were so generous we decided not to finish as we were not ready to skip the dessert (Ras Malai and Gulab Jamun). Did you mean you decided to finish?

The portions were generous and we were quite full but we couldn’t help but go ahead and try the dessert-ras malai and gulab jamun.

It is actually a lovely casual pedestrian area that gives offers a peaceful holiday vibe-away from the buzzing city.
