Join the dance floor on Wednesdays at W Lounge

A cool new concept just landed in town, at Yas Island to be more precise. Why? The W Lounge located at W Abu Dhabi – Yas Island has brushed up on their 70s, 80s and 90s beverages to compliment the jumps and jives of these eras.

W Abu Dhabi – Yas Island (the hotel overlooking Yas circuit took over Yas Hotel and opened right before the Formula One race in 2019). It was our first time visiting the hotel since W Abu Dhabi took over and we must say the hotel decor is just striking! There is a new warmth and personality to the space that you can see and feel as soon as you step in.

The Vinyl Vibes party occurs every Wednesday night at W Lounge, located on the ground floor.

Invited to check out this recent launch, we definitely enjoyed the experience and were just blown away by the striking decor at W Lounge. From floor to ceiling, the lounge has this feel-good vibe with splashes of vibrant colors everywhere: black and white wallpapers beside a velvet flowery armchair, ceramic tiles on the floor drawing flower shapes, shelves filled with glass and vases at the bar, and many alcoves at the back of the lounge for big groups.

The second thing we wanted to highlight is the night concept as W Abu Dhabi – Yas Island are transforming their infamous W Lounge into the 70s, 80s and funky 90s dance floor to compliment the absolute tunes that will be blasting from 6 pm onwards.

What we really liked is how the drinks pricing evolves throughout the evening and the decades:

7pm – 7:15pm, beverages AED 13 (70’s pricing)
Twist and shake to the iconic sounds of The Beatles, groove along to the harmonies of Jackson 5 and rock out to The Rolling Stones…and that’s just the 70’s tracks!

8pm – 8:15pm, beverages AED 25 (80’s pricing)
Slide into the 80s with Elton John’s specials and bring it back to your youth with some of Madonna’s classics!

9pm – 9:15pm, beverages AED 35 (90’s pricing)
To end the night with some spice, bangers from the much-loved Spice Girls and Destiny’s Child to help you dance the night away.

And, in case you forget what time it is exactly, the DJ onboard makes sure you get to know we switch to the next decade when 8 pm or 9 pm comes, a way to remind customers they can also place their order and enjoy the lower prices.

The menu is quite funky too as it comes as a vinyl shape disc with the beverages on one side and the finger food options on the other side.

Not only is Vinyl Vibes offering you a space to let loose and unwind, but they are also feeding your hunger after throwing some shapes on the dancefloor. With delectable sharing style bites like basil hummus with sunflower seed pita starting from AED 26 or Shawarma chicken and garlic labneh starting at AED 38. We ordered the flatbread and chicken shawarma that we both enjoyed and were easy to share at the table.

Bring back the vinyl vibes and shamelessly indulge in all of our guilty pleasures.
