Love Japan? Make your way to Al Wahda Mall, as the mall boasts a branch of Daiso, a Japanese chain store stocking an impressive array of imported Japanese homeware, beauty products, stationary, gadgets and accessories.
Portable paper cups? They’ve got them. Shampoo brush? It’s there for the taking. Mini pans? Yes, that too… A miniature range includes gift bags, ironing sheets, and storage boxes. The products are usually small, quirky and affordable – with most the items priced at just 7 AED (the shop’s lucky number is 7 – and at this price, it will be yours too). The stock may be cheap, but it’s definitely not tacky.
Some items, of course, are a little pricier (12 AED ) but a visit to Daiso will never have your bank manager breaking out in a cold sweat.
Daiso is the perfect place to head if you want to bring a slice of Japan to Abu Dhabi. We love the concept – and will definitely be heading back soon…
