Calling all animal lovers
It’s a busy time of year for families in the UAE as they attempt to make the most of the nice weather. For those looking hoping to enjoy the outdoors and try something new, a day out at the farm may be just what the kids need.
On March 12, and every second Saturday of the next few months, Al Bahya Sanctuary in Abu Dhabi will host open days for the public.
These events are free of charge and children of all ages are welcome. They are usually held during afternoons between 4pm and 6pm. The private farm is off the beaten track and hosts a variety of animals, such as ponies, donkeys, cats, dogs and more.
Children are welcome to feed and groom the farm animals and help the volunteers. Visitors are also able to donate supplies, including blankets, boxes, animal toys, carrots and apples.
If you’re keen to drop by for a visit, be sure to check the location on Google Maps beforehand (see above), as there are not too many signs in the area.
