Kids will love attending these art workshops at Manarat Al Saadiyat in Abu Dhabi.

We have discovered some great ways to keep the children busy with after school activities now that all outdoor events have come to a close because of the rise in temperatures.

Develop their artistic skills and help them build social confidence by visiting the Saadiyat Cultural District website as they are hosting several different types of workshops for kids, with 3 age groups (6yrs to 8yrs), junior (9yrs to 12yrs) and teens (13yrs and above).

Here is our selection for June 2014.

Children workshops

Clay Camels – 5th of June, 4:30pm to 6:30pm
Let them use clay to create a caravan of camels that kids will bring home

Colima Dog Vessel – 19th of June, 4:30pm to 6:30pm
Create your own animal vessel (turtle, fish, crab…) in the Colina pottery way, a tradition that was developed in 1650 BCE on the western coast of Mexico

Junior workshops

Helmet mask – 14th of June, 4:30pm to 6:30pm
Junior kids will create their own helmet mask with a wide range of materials and bring it back home.

Indus seal – 20th of June, 2:30pm to 4:30pm
During the 2 hours, kids will have the opportunity to work with soft clay and create a bespoke stone seal.

Teens and adults workshops

Viking Jewelry – 6th June – 2:30pm to 4:30pm
Explore Vikings designs to get inspired and create your bespoke jewelry.

Arabian Bronze Hand – 11th June – 5:30pm to 7:30pm
You will create a buzz with a bronze hand in your living room after creating it with plaster (and bronze paint)

Each workshop costs 50 AED per person.

By the way, parents are also welcome to join the teen’s workshops or can also wisely pay a visit to the current exhibition ‘History of the World through 100 objects’ in Manarat Al Saadiyat while the kids are busy.
