Feeling concerned about our planet’s health and want to be more active this year?

Well, we came across two great Abu Dhabi based initiatives that will take place right here in the city this September and we obviously felt like giving them a shout out!

INTERNATIONAL COASTAL CLEANUP DAY

• Where: Park Hyatt Abu Dhabi (location map at the bottom of the article)
• When: Saturday 15th of September 2018
  • Timings: 7:30am – 9:30am
    7:30 AM – Arrival and breakfast
    8:15 AM – Briefing
    8:30 AM – Nurdle hunt
    9:00 AM – Prize giving

• What: 
  Join Arabella Willing – Park Hyatt Abu Dhabi’s resident marine biologist to learn about the impact of marine debris on Abu Dhabi’s wildlife. The morning will begin with a delicious breakfast at Beach House followed by a “Nurdle Hunt” – a light-hearted competition looking for tiny plastic particles along Saadiyat beach.

Attire: Ideally, please wear comfortable clothes and shoes suitable for walking along the beach. Bring your own reusable water bottles and recycled container for collecting nurdles!

FAMILY SCREENING: CHASING CORAL

  The Living Room Café decided to dedicate the month of September as their Énvironmental Awareness Month’ and to take part into PROJECT AWARE week (15-23 September) 2018.To kick things off, this café proposes us all to join for a special screening of CHASING CORAL, a NETFLIX Original Documentary released in July 2018.This documentary has received three News and Documentary Emmy® award nominations for:

– Outstanding Nature Documentary
– Best Documentary
– Outstanding Music and Sound.

• The Synopsis: 
  Coral reefs around the world are vanishing at an unprecedented rate. A team of divers, photographers and scientists set out on a thrilling ocean adventure to discover why and to reveal the underwater mystery to the world.
