On 20 October 2019, you’re invited to celebrate this milestone moment with the nation at Louvre Abu Dhabi – one of seven events taking place simultaneously across every emirate from 1700 to 2200, kick-starting the 12-month countdown to the World’s Greatest Show.
There’s only One Year to Go until the eyes of the world turn towards the UAE, as 192 countries and millions of global visitors gather for an entertainment-packed, inspirational and future-shaping 173 days at Expo 2020 Dubai.
What you’re in for from 17:00–22:00
– A festival of music, food and live entertainment for the entire family
– Live broadcast of the Dubai show
– Live performances by Layla Kardan, Sandra Sahi and Stephon LaMar
The event at Louvre Abu Dhabi is not ticketed and arrival at 1700 is recommended, with 2,500 visitors expected to attend.
The program in more details
The free, fun-filled and family-friendly festivities at Louvre Abu Dhabi will feature a host of hotly-tipped grassroots musical acts. Catch pop singer Sandra Sahi, who has amassed more than six million YouTube views with her songs Coconut and Hala Bre7at Heli, soulful North Carolina native Stephon Lamar and award-winning singer-songwriter Layla Kardan, plus the classical stylings of Emirati Trio.
Also present on the night will be DJ Kaboo, Zambian painter Victor Sitali, UAE-based art collective The Domino, painter Chinedu Eneogwe (aka Wisdom), and MCs Enjy Kiwan and Mo El Torky.
Alongside a wealth of delicious cuisines to suit all tastes, and a craft area for kids, visitors can also watch a live broadcast of the One Year to Go event in Burj Park, Downtown Dubai – which will feature performances from global superstar Mariah Carey and acclaimed Emirati musician and Expo 2020 Ambassador Hussain Al Jassmi.
There will also be an eye-catching projection on Burj Khalifa, with a countdown moment at 2020 (8.20pm) to mark a year until the next World Expo launches on 20 October 2020.
Events across the other emirates will take place at Al Majaz Waterfront in Sharjah, Ajman Museum, Umm Al Quwain Corniche, Al Qawasim Corniche in Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah Fort.
The event in Abu Dhabi is free to attend but space is limited, so please arrive early to make sure you don’t miss the fun!
Please note that all visitors must use the Louvre Abu Dhabi Park and Ride to get to the venue.
