The new rejuvenating and non-invasive treatment celebrities swear by

It’s been a few months since we read about this new non-invasive facial treatment called Hydrafacial. So it’s with great pleasure and a bit of apprehension to be honest that we took a chance to experience and review this new machine now available at the New Age Clinic in Abu Dhabi.

This treatment has become quite famous in no time as it provides an all-in-one session with deep pore cleansing, exfoliation, extraction, hydration and protection for your skin.

The New Age Clinic proposes a bespoke formula combining the use of the machine with a manual treatment priced at 600 AED. The overall experience usually lasts from 45 to 90 minutes depending on your skin and its impurities.

Curious about the way it works? Then read on as we have summarized the 4 steps of the process.

Step 1 : Cleansing and Exfoliation
After removing your makeup and cleansing your face, the technician uses a nozzle from the machine and works it on your whole face including the nose, chin, cheeks and forehead. It feels like a mini vacuum-cleaner is gently sucking your skin while it dislodges its impurities such as the dry skin. We were surprised that it was painless and we felt no discomfort.

Right after, the aesthetician puts your face under the steamer for 5 to 10 minutes and manually removes the blackheads. This was the only time we didn’t really relax but the perspective of looking bright and shiny kept us from complaining.

The technician then applied a mask containing mint, lavender and chamomile and she massaged our face with a lavender cream which was quite relaxing.

Step 2 : The Acid Peel
With this second time of using the machine, the gentle peel helps soften the sebum and loosen the dirt from our pores and remove all skin impurities.

Step 3 : The extraction
The vortex-like suction draws out all the impurities and leaves our skin clean with the pores unclogged.

Step 4 : Hydration
Depending on your skin type, the beautician puts your face under a red light (for tightening) or blue light (for oily skin) while the vortex-fusion nourishes your face with peptides, hyaluronic acids and antioxidants.

Lastly, she applies a nourishing cream and sunblock.

Right after our treatment that lasted 50 minutes we could already see the difference with our pores unclogged but slight redness on the face, especially the nose area.

The next day however, there was no more redness and we felt like the treatment had worked wonders as we could see a glow on our skin and it felt much smoother.

It is definitely a treatment we will try again and we secretly hope that sooner or later, the clinic starts selling a package so that we may ideally add this spa treatment to our monthly beauty and maintenance routine.
