Have you ever tried Coconut Water?
Unlike Coconut Milk, which is drunk throughout the world, few people beyond South America and Southeast Asia seem to have tasted it. The Water comes from younger, green fruits – and is both deliciously refreshing and packed with health benefits.
Particularly recommended in hot cities like Abu Dhabi, Coconut Water is one of the most hydrating things we can drink – even more so than regular water. The benefits come from its electrolyte composition, which is similar to human plasma – in fact, during the Pacific War between 1941 and 1945, it was used to make a plasma transfusion to the injured. The drink is now widely consumed by sports men and women to keep hydration levels topped up while they are training or competing.
Coconut Water contains calcium, sodium and phosphorous, and is fat, sugar and cholesterol free. It’s also very high in potassium – a 330ml serving of pure coconut water contains more potassium than two bananas. Getting potassium into the body reduces water retention, opens cell receptors, and helps with their communication – making it an excellent tool in the fight against cellulite. Staying hydrated also keeps you feeling fuller for longer, hence reducing hunger pangs and sugar cravings.
One word of warning though – be careful where you buy it, as there can be a huge price difference. Available at Spinneys, Carrefour, Waitrose and more across Abu Dhabi.

Great info. Is it found anywhere else in Dubai, other than Milk & Honey & Choithrams? Spinney’s maybe or Carrefour?
Yes green coconut can also be found in Spinney’s and probably in Carrefour – Absolutely fantastic for your health and delicious
I love coconut Juice! .<)
Is cocnut water different from coconut juice? I bought in Choitrams 2 tins of juice but they don’t seem to be sugar free and contains E224.
Yes they sell some cans of coconut juices but there is added sugar in it and preservatives..the best thing (and cheaper) is to buy the whole green coconut. You can find it in any supermarkets here.
The only place where we have found pure bottled coconut juice without added sugar was in “Honey and Milk” on the Palm but it was hefty. Apparently the Organic Cafe in Dubai Mall sells some too but we never found it..
