A new outdoor brunch with street food trucks

If you haven’t tried the Friday Brunch at Le Royal Meridien Abu Dhabi for a while, they have just revamped their Brunch concept- and we were amongst the first to try it out.

Experience a unique, all-you-can-eat brunch, that joins the four elements of earth, water, fire and air. This brunch is spread across four dining destinations at Le Royal Méridien Abu Dhabi: whEAT, LRM Central, Café Palmier and District By Amalfi.

FIRE | The #LRM Central food trucks on board

The most surprising new addition is definitely the food trucks spread across the swimming pool and outdoor terrace area facing the Café Palmier.

The #LRMCentral outdoor food trucks instantly add a fun and friendly street festival like vibe. As we opted for a table outdoors -on the shady terrace – we could easily wander these different food and beverage stalls sprawled across the outdoors.

You can order Mexican street food including beef or tuna tacos, barbecue pulled chicken nachos or loaded vegetarian quesadillas tomato salsa. The PHAT PANDA food truck was all about Chinese street food such as bao buns filled with Peking duck, shrimp tempura with Japanese mayo and Jade dumplings filled with vegetables.

All afternoon long, kids and teenagers kept queueing at “SCOOPS Milkshake and Icecream” where they could order bespoke ice cream shakes topped with brownies or doughnuts.

The CHEF SHACK truck was all about beef and crumbed chicken sliders, battered cod fish and of course, french fries to go with.

LRM Central is also fired up with a range of luxury grills, BBQ stations, a smoker and themed bars with signatures drinks to match each Element.

We really liked that all cocktails and mocktails stations were serving the beverages with pasta straws. A first we will surely adopt at home too!

EARTH | The Amalfi corner

District by Amalfi is offering freshly baked pizzas, a cheese room, large variety of salads and halal cold cuts. There is also a carving station with delicious baked in the oven vegetables to accompany roast lamb leg or roasted beef. We especially enjoyed the pumpkin and strawberry salad with sunflower seeds – an unusual pairing that worked well. We must admit we did keep going back for the truffle pizza.

WATER | Many buffet stations to visit inside Café Palmier

Guests seemed to enjoy visiting the oysters as there were being freshly shucked and displayed on a white and blue boat nestled at the brunch entrance. Sushi and seafood fans can rejoice as there was an appealing selection on board. From roasted salmon or hammour to vegetable gratins, there were a lot of wholesome mains to try out and even a potato feast with almost ten ways to enjoy them – mashed, scalloped, roasted, baked, cooked with skin, purple, yellow and more.

AIR | The corner sweet tooth addicts will keep visiting

The dessert station is spread inside whEAT corner – with a flying unicorn and puffy clouds on the walls-. Guests are really spoilt for choice, with appetizing sweet tarts, creams, cakes and gelatos to choose from. The raspberry macaroon was one of our top picks!

Frozen yogurt & white chocolate ice cream is made fresh in front of you with dry ice and many more sweet delights to indulge.
