GRANDMOTHER’S CUPCAKE RECIPE

We know that the cupcake craze is a little last season, but there is one store in Abu Dhabi that still stands out… Bringing back memories of our grandmother’s style of baking, the owner of Mama’s Cupcakes Faiza Taha follows her own secret recipes and bakes everything herself.

There’s a large selection of flavours and toppings, with something different on the menu daily. The Red Velvet (our favourite) comes with a delicious cream cheese topping, whilst the Chocolate has intense chocolate icing that is packed with different flavours. If you’re watching your waistline, the good news is that she also bakes bite-size versions (just be warned that you will want to keep popping them in your mouth…)

The kitsch little bakery is located in Al Muroor, but they also offer home delivery. We love the fact that the store is independent (a welcome change to the big chain cupcake stores in malls) and has real authenticity.
