Time flies! It is already one year since Matsu Abu Dhabi opened its doors at Yas Links and it is only during their first-anniversary party and launch of their Tuesday Sakazuki Nights that we visited this authentic Japanese restaurant. Matsu Abu Dhabi defines itself as a fine example of ‘Ryotei’ ( 旅程), a luxurious traditional Japanese restaurant.

If just like us, one of your favorite spots in Abu Dhabi is the terrace overlooking the mangroves at Yas Links, you are in for a treat as Matsu Abu Dhabi is located on the first floor at Yas Links, just above the terrace of Hickory’s, meaning we can enjoy these awesome views!

So this November, Matsu Abu Dhabi celebrated its first anniversary and unveiled its new weekly Sakazuki Night. Every Tuesday from 26th November, guests can experience specialty menus, priced at AED 99 per selection curated to share, and ladies will enjoy three complimentary beverages.

Guests are invited to join in the Sakazuki (盃, Sakazuki) – which refers to the ritual of exchanging sake cups – a means of pledging loyalty, friendships and strengthening bonds each week.

The new evening concept is presented in synergy with the venue’s traditional Japanese values and essence.

A refined, relaxing atmosphere awaits diners, whether inside amongst intricate wooden interiors, sushi bar and private dining areas, or overlooking stunning evergreen and waterfront mangrove views from the open-air terrace.

Presented by the friendly team, an array of Sake and Shochu beverages are highlighted on the new Sakazuki Nights, ready to taste and clink cups, with three complimentary beverages for ladies.

Every Tuesday, guests will be able to embark on a gastronomic journey with Matsu’s Sakazuki Night Kaiseki menus, a multi-course dinner comprising beautifully plated signatures, priced at AED 99. 

Chef Yuji Abe and Chef Yasu Takemoto showcase a creative and innovative approach with the best of genuine, authentic recipes and flavours. Highlights include Maguro (tuna) tartare with rice canapes, Tuna Yamatoni (Tuna with Shoyu), Mini Wagyu Sukiyaki (inspired by the traditional hot pot) and more.

We definitely enjoyed our night and one of our favorite canapes was the Maguro tartare. A must try!

We can’t wait to get back there during the winter season and spend a chilled Tuesday night at their terrcae.
