An ideal spot to enjoy a traditional Iftar in Abu Dhabi with close friends and family this Ramadan

If you are not yet acquainted to the Iftars in Abu Dhabi and wish to experience a traditional meal one night during the Holy Month, then mark the Ritz Carlton Abu Dhabi Iftar on your list.

Welcomed by a group of hostesses, you are guided to the table while crossing an authentic Arabian setting with many live stations in the lobby. Even if you are familiar with the hotel, the decor is so impressive that it takes a few seconds to find your bearings.

Our table located inside the Giornotte restaurant was decorated with colorful and small Arabian lanterns that gave an intimate atmosphere despite the large seating options.

The buffet is impressive, filled with different Middle-Eastern fare you may have not tried yet such as baby camel, lamb ouzie or the Jordanian Mansaf.

The buffet also features many International dishes, cold and hot mezze and it’s a pure delight to visit the large number of live cooking stations with pasta, shawarma, soups or kushary to name a few… The Dal Makhani had a flavorful taste and we also loved the cheese cigars and falafel cooked in front of us.

If you are a bread lover, check this corner as there is a selection of homemade breads from all over the world, from Turkish bread to Ciabatta, French baguette and so many different pides…

The dessert selection is just massive with all the Arabian desserts you may dream of displayed inside Giornotte restaurant. Gazelle horns, both the cheese and traditional kanafah versions and the Umm Ali were our favorite picks.

We enjoyed the festive ambience and the great hospitality with the waiters regularly coming to our table proposing homemade breads – the bread with cramberries and dry raisins is a top choice – and juices such as Jallab, Vito, Erk Sous or Karkadé.

The Iftar buffet at Giornotte is served daily from sunset to 9pm and is priced at 230++ AED. This includes local water, juices, tea, coffee and assorted desserts.
