After almost a month of patiently waiting to visit the newly opened outlets at Yas Marina, our patience has been rewarded with Café d’Alsace, a French, German and Swiss-inspired bistro, and we could finally enjoy it sans the Formula 1 crowd who won’t be back until November 2014.
With its wide terrace overlooking the marina and private yachts, Café d’Alsace really is picture perfect. It also boasts a friendly yet relaxing atmosphere, ideal for lunch with the girls.
If you are keen to try something different we suggest giving the flammkuchen a go. An extremely popular dish in Germany, Switzerland and Eastern parts of France, the dish is composed of bread dough rolled out very thinly, which is then covered with fromage blanc or crème fraîche, thinly sliced onions and turkey lardons. However, our pick would definitely be their amazingly fresh pretzel buns and their wide array of pastries and baked goods.
