When you are a bread and French pastry lover, you are always searching for new sweet treats to try, and you always make yourself feel less guilty about the calorie intake by saying it’s impossible to judge a product without trying it first!
That’s why it was no surprise when we decided to visit Baguette de France, soon after its opening. The bakery, which also doubles up as a café and restaurant is tucked into the new Mamoura district, located on the corner between Muroor Road (4th Street) and 15th Street.
We have to admit the result was beyond our expectations. The sliced farmhouse bread at only 7AED really tasted like it was fresh from France and for the French-food connoisseurs, a bread similar to “Pain Poilane” that keeps a nice texture, even after two days was also available.
The tantalising sweet treats are more expensive, around 20AED each but were worth a try, especially the divine chocolate tart, flavourful lemon tart and creamy mille-feuille.
